Project and document management with Smap3D PDM

Project management is the management approach which contributes to minimizing time and costs, but also increases the product quality. With the project management tool in Smap3D PDM, users can create projects and assign CAD data and data from other documents to a project. Project-dependent properties such as a due date, or the name of the person responsible, can be added. An active project allows the necessary overview of upcoming tasks at any time, even across locations. The document management encompasses a wide variety of document types such as MS Word, Excel, PDF or DXF, which are used by different departments.

Management of standard and repeat parts as well as preferred ranges

Standard and repeat parts are automatically detected by Smap3D PDM. The remainder originate from the standard parts library supplied with Solid Edge, whereby a strong integration is achieved.

Status management and classification with Smap3D PDM

Smap3D PDM is a smart solution for status management. It is individually adjustable for all data throughout the life cycle. Workflows or specific reviews can be initiated by a change in status. Data can also be linked to the status via the access and user rights and therefore be made visible only to a defined group of people. The use of product data with incorrect status is a thing of the past!

Through classification, unique assignment in connection with company-wide consistent naming is feasible. Relevant features are also detected. A faster search outcome is possible through different search perspectives on the same product. The result: Time savings and a reduction in the number of variants through increased reuse due to normalized and standardized product data.
